Here’s an interesting one from the local pool of talent. Honestly, it’s not too bloody bad. This is the latest incarnation of Zircon Lounge, Singapore’s first-ever new wave band. It’s uncertain how much of the irony of new wave they get — their slogan, “the greatest band you don’t know you need,” does suggest some self-regard — but if anyone in Singapore’s ever going to get it, these guys will. The music is ‘80s electro. Never mind, though: ultimately the question is, is it danceable? And the answer is yes, in that electro way.
